The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender

The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender - Leslye Walton TRIGGER WARNING: RAPE.

So I have mixed feelings about this book; the title is misleading, because it isnt just about the strange and beautiful sorrows of ava lavender, but also about her mother, grandmother, great grandmother, etc. So it took me some time to get in to this book, because in the beginning you get so much history about al these people, and I didn't really care.

And than the rape scène;
I wish someone would have told me this book was build too this rape scene, because I wouldnt have read this if I knew, it really bothers me.

The things I did like;
- The main characters; Ava, her friends, her mother Viviane (also the parts with young Viviane and Jack). Though the story is of average length, and there are so many characters the story doesnt lack of character development.
- The writingstyle; it's beautifully written, it just felt magical.

For the writingstyle I would give this book 5 stars, but it took me a bit to get in to, and that one scene bothered me so much, so I rated it with 3 stars.
